portfolio will underwrite VAE’s extensive educations programs for artists. If you are interested in purchasing a portfolio, please contact VAE
Director Sarah Powers at sarah@visualartexchange.org
Georges Le Chevallier, the curator of the VAE Collectors Print Portfolio, wanted to “showcase the remarkable and wide-ranging works of the
contemporary artists who are shaping Raleigh’s art scene. These prints reflect our complex art community with a plethora of philosophies,
themes and styles: The participating artists are originally from the United States, Germany, France, Puerto Rico, England, and South Korea.”
Further, Georges says “I am extremely honored to work with such distinguished artists in such a unique project as I find their work
exhilarating, inspiring and thought-provoking. Not only does the VAE Collectors Print Portfolio present the most exciting artists working in
Raleigh today, but it also illustrates the camaraderie that exists within the city’s art community.”
Visual Art Exchange (VAE) is a non-profit creativity incubator and gallery that supports
and educates emerging, professional and student artists. Each year VAE exhibits the
work of more than 800 artists in 60 exhibitions and hosts more than 50 educational
programs. VAE also is the force behind SPARKcon, an interdisciplinary art and design
festival in Downtown Raleigh.

Die Cut Dots by Holly Aiken
Holly Aiken was born in Jacksonville, FL, and lived in California and Maryland, before settling in Raleigh
where she attended the School of Design at North Carolina State University. After graduation, Holly's passion
helped her to build her own design business. Though her line has evolved over the years, Holly has
remained true to her original vision, which is to provide uncomplicated bags using distinctive, indestructible
materials. Influenced by colors found in dime store aisles and vintage racing jackets, Holly's bags are
primarily made from vinyl and bold black webbing trim, accented by stripes or crisp geometric shapes. Her
color palette is slightly retro and always just right. Every one of Holly's bags is made in the USA (aka: Raleigh,
NC) and has been lovingly constructed with precision and care to withstand the daily grind.
